FLAMENCO DANCER was slow into stride losing 1 length. CLASS ACT was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Anthony was questioned regarding the improved performance of CLASS ACT the winner, compared to this mare's previous run on the 12.11.2017. Mr Anthony could offer no suitable explanation for the improved performance and his attention has been drawn to the Rules pertaining to "in and out" running. ALRAUNE raced wide on the bend. Entering the straight, FLAMENCO DANCER was switched to the outside of FAIR ANTONIA for a clear run. Thereafter FAIR ANTONIA shifted out slightly resulting in FLAMENCO DANCER being awkwardly placed, and thereafter switching to the outside of a tiring SHEZA ROCKSTAR, As a result LA SUERTE DE MATAR was carried outwards and eased. The Board after questioning Jockey Wrogemann, the rider of FLAMENCO DANCER, and considering the above report was satisfied that a riding offence was not committed. Jockey van Rensburg reported that he felt something amiss with SHEZA ROCKSTAR in running. In view of the performance of ALRAUNE, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Vet: ALRAUNE - small speedy cut left hind. SHEZA ROCKSTAR - nothing obvious detected. Scratched: VICTORY TRIP - insufficient recovery time - raced. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked and their identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed.
