The all clear for this Race was delayed due to the Stipendiary Board requesting a hard copy of the photo from the judge to satisfy themselves as to the result of the race. KEANAN'S ROCK and REBEL BARON were slow into stride. In view of the performance of STAY WITH ME, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Jockey Zackey, the rider of VOLCANIC SUNSET, and Jockey van der Merwe, the rider of ARPAD, reported that their mounts did not stride out freely in running. Jockey van Rensburg reported that TIRZAN took hold of the bit racing through the 1200m, which resulted in him racing further clear of the field then he had planned. THE ROCKETMAN (AUS) shifted both ways away from the crop from the 400m. Jockey Zechner was charged with a contravention, read with Guideline M on the use of the crop, in that he used the crop with excessive frequency whilst riding the horse THE ROCKETMAN (AUS). Jockey Zechner signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined. RACING SOCKS was hanging in from the 200m. QUERARI VIKING was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. KEANAN'S ROCK raced with a tongue tie on. RACING SOCKS raced with Club colours with the Stewards permission. Vet: STAY WITH ME - not striding out right front. VOLCANIC SUNSET - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. ARPAD - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. Scratched: PARTY BEAT - swollen left front.
