ROAD TO INDY was nervous in the stalls. PLANO was hanging inward from the 300 metre mark and was carried outward by ROAD TO INDY for a stride, which shifted away from the crop in the closing stages. The sectional timing devices became dislodged from the saddles of GRAPE VINE, AREZZO and OLYMPIC POWER respectively in the running. Thereafter in consultation with the Jockeys, the Racing Association and Phumelela representatives, the Stipendiary Board made a decision to terminate the use of the sectional timing devices for the remainder of the meeting. OLYMPIC POWER was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
