THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SKIDOO (*L Tarentaal) was restless in the stalls. b) WINTER FLIGHT (A Marcus) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At the 200m, a tiring FIRE WALKER (*X Jacobs) was tightened for galloping room for a number of strides on the inside of MR COBBS (A Domeyer), which was carried in by SHINNECOCK (*J Solomons) which was hanging in, shifted in slightly and proved difficult to straighten. b) Jockey S Mbhele, the rider of SPEED OF NIGHT, reported that he felt something amiss with this gelding and he did not persevere with his riding in the latter stages. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine. c) SPEED OF NIGHT (S Mbhele) returned suffering from a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage (2nd episode) and is suspended, for a period of 120 days, from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr J Batt) d) AL BRAGGA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer JMT Stewart was advised. (TJ) JOCKEY AND/OR EQUIPMENT CHANGES: a) G van Niekerk rode POWER GRID (declared 09h34 on 20201018) b) Apprentice X Jacobs weighed out at 50.7 kg's only claiming 1.5kg's of his 4 kg allowance, of which 2 kg's was declared.
