JUST CRUISED IN lost one length. Jockey Penny reported that EASTERN PEARL did not stride out freely in running. When questioned regarding his riding of STORM WARNING, Jockey Strydom explained to the Board that his intentions were to race this horse from a handy position. However this gelding had shown no interest in the early stages and had to be encouraged to maintain its midfield position. Then at approximately the 600m, STORM WARNING had come under a hard ride. Thereafter at the 300m, when STORM WARNING had come to the end of its run, he was tightened for galloping room and he did not persevere with his ride. Jockey Strydom was reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts with sufficient vigour and determination to the end of the race so as to leave no room for query from the Stewards. ODD ROB was baulked for a clear run from the 250m to the finish. Jockey Wrogemann reported that he felt something amiss with STUNNED in the pull up area. SHEET WEAVER was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. LIONS EMBLEM raced without cheek pieces. The Ownership of FORTUNE FELLA should read: Mr L & Mrs S Meistre & Messrs J L Close, D Fleischman & D Little was slow into stride. EQUATOR raced with Club colours with Stewards permission. Vet: SAVE THE RHINO - abnormal respiratory noise. STUNNED and EASTERN PEARL - examined post race, nothing obvious detected.
