THE STARTER REPORTED: a) STAR OVER CAPETOWN (*J Syster) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) BOHEMIAN LAD (*L Ferraris) raced wide in the early and middle stages. b) NHLANHLA (D Schwarz) over-raced in the middle stages and was hanging in from the 400m. Thereafter, Jockey D Schwarz reported that he felt something amiss with NHLANHLA (12.90 lengths) in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) CARDBOARD COWBOY (G Wright) and MONTANA SKY (A Arries) were brushed in at the 400m and 250m, respectively by WHATEVERITTAKES (W Kennedy) which was hanging in from the 450m, proving difficult to assist. Thereafter, MONTANA SKY (A Arries) and WHATEVERITTAKES (W Kennedy) came together and brushed on at least two occasions in the concluding stages. d) NOBLE FLIGHT (S Randolph) was hanging in from the 300m. e) In view of the performance of TRUMPET VOLUNTARY (A Mgudlwa) (19.80 lengths) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) Assistant Trainer B Forster acting on behalf of Trainer W A Nel appeared before the Board and was questioned regarding the improved performance of CAPTAIN ZEE compared to this gelding's previous performance on the 05 August 2020. In this regard, he explained that today this gelding had appreciated being ridden in a rear-ward position and with cover early. In his view, this is what accounted for this gelding's improved performance. Assistant Trainer B Forster undertook to race this gelding in a similar manner in future. Assistant Trainer B Forster's explanation was noted by the Board. g) CAPTAIN ZEE (K de Melo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer B Forster acting for Trainer W A Nel advised (DA). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) CARDBOARD COWBOY raced equipped with blinkers (advised 20.10.20/9h10). b) TRUMPET VOLUNTARY raced without blinkers (advised 21.10.20/7h36). c) NHLANHLA was ridden by Jockey D Schwarz (advised 21.10.20/8h54). d) BOHEMIAN LAD was ridden by Apprentice L Ferraris (advised 21.10.20/7h49). e) JUST DIXIT was ridden by Jockey W Agrella (advised 19.10.20/11h08) and this gelding raced equipped with blinkers (advised 21.10.20/8h50).
