THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start for all runners. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At the 250m, GENTLEMAN'S WAGER (A Marcus) had to ease when awkwardly placed on the outside of RUN TO DENMARK (G Wright) which shifted out. A race review was called into this incident which was followed by an objection being lodged by Jockey A Marcus on behalf of the fourth placed horse (GENTLEMAN'S WAGER) against the winner (RUN TO DENMARK) on the grounds of interference in the concluding stages. After considering the evidence in this matter which included that of Jockey A Marcus, the Board overruled the objection. In arriving at this decision, the Board considered the distance of 1.30 lengths between the two horses at the finish and that after the incident, GENTLEMAN'S WAGER did not sufficiently reduce the deficit between itself and RUN TO DENMARK in order for the Board to be satisfied that but for the above incident, GENTLEMAN'S WAGER would have finished ahead of RUN TO DENMARK. Therefore, the Board overruled the objection and the Judge's result was allowed to stand. Jockey A Marcus' deposit was refunded. b) Jockey G Wright signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 62.2.7, in that as the rider of RUN TO DENMARK, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to GENTLEMAN'S WAGER (A Marcus) at the 250m. Accordingly, a penalty of a suspension from riding in races for a period of 7 days was imposed. (Suspension dates : 22.10.20 to the 28.10.20, bdi). c) In view of the performance of ALL THE WAY UP (*T Gumede) (20.45 lengths) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) RUN TO DENMARK (G Wright), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer B Forster acting on behalf of Trainer W A Nel advised (DA). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) JOSEPH JAGGER was ridden by Jockey S Randolph (advised 21.10.20/7h41). b) SAMSONITE was ridden by Apprentice K Strydom (claiming 3.5kg) (advised 21.10.20/7h39). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) ALL THE WAY UP : Not striding out right fore. SCRATCHINGS : a) HIGH GREEN : Elevated temperature (Trainer - 19.10.20/4h46).
