EMERALD BAY jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. SUMMER SUN was slow into stride. Jockey Simons reported that EMERALD BAY took no interest in running. Jockey Murray reported that EXCALIBUR'S RETURN made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. Jockey Delpech, the rider of FARAWAY ISLAND (IRE) and Jockey van der Merwe, the rider of SUMMER SUN, reported that their respective mounts did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine FARAWAY ISLAND (IRE) and SUMMER SUN. Assistant Trainer Mathee was requested to report back on the condition of FARAWAY ISLAND on return to the stables. RETURN TO POWER was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. EXCALIBUR'S RETURN raced equipped with a tongue tie. TUNDRA TAITA raced equipped with cheek pieces. Vet: EMERALD BAY - not striding out right front. EXCALIBUR'S RETURN - no respiratory noise detected post race. FARAWAY ISLAND (IRE) - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. SUMMER SUN - examined post race, nothing obvious detected.
