FREE STATE, VINE STREET STAR, A WOMENS WAY and QUEEN OF ALAMO were slow into stride. QUEEN OF ALAMO and VINE STREET STAR were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. QUEEN OF ALAMO was carried out on the latter part of the bend and into the straight. Apprentice Moodley, the rider of SEATTLE OAK, lost his left side stirrup iron as the start was effected, which he regained shortly thereafter. VINE STREET STAR was squeezed out shortly after the start. In view of performance of SEATTLE OAK, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Vet: SEATTLE OAK - coughing. A WOMENS WAY - Bilateral epistaxis, 60 days suspension.
