Light rain fell prior to and during the running of the 8th Race. There was a delay to the start of the 8th Race as a result of the farrier having to replace the right front shoe on MEET THE LOGANS at the start. ART ATTACK, MEET THE LOGANS and HIGH ALTAR were slow into stride. SONG OF MITU lost 1 length. MOON PRINCESS was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. FULLFILLYOURDREAM over-raced in the early stages. MEET THE LOGANS and HIGH ALTAR brushed approaching the 200 metre mark. POMONA and MULHER DE BRANCO brushed shortly before the finish. STOCKADE was hanging in, in the straight. Jockey Mgudlwa, the rider of STOCKADE, and Jockey Kennedy, the rider of MEET THE LOGANS, reported that they felt something amiss with their respective mounts in running. In view of the performance of MYELISHA the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. An Inquiry will be held into Apprentice Sakayi's riding of JUST RAP in the closing stages. Vet: STOCKADE and MYELISHA - nothing obvious detected. JUST RAP, POMONA and MEET THE LOGANS - coughing. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at tonight's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at tonight's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed.
