HORIZON and LAST WINTER were slow losing one length and thereafter were slow into stride. NOTHER RUSSIA dropped her head down and struck the front gate as the start was effected losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. Jockey Byleveld reported that he felt something amiss with NIGHTINGALE in running. COPPER FORCE over-raced in the early stages, was bumped and became unbalanced at the 1800m. CAPTAIN AMERICA was hanging out over the final 350m, shifted out, which resulted in KRAMBAMBULI having to be steadied off the heels of CAPTAIN AMERICA at the 300m. Jockey Grant van Niekerk was charged with a contravention in that, whilst riding the horse OH SUSANNA (AUS), he saluted in a celebratory gesture prior to the finish line. Jockey van Niekerk signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined. OH SUSANNA (AUS) and LAST WINTER were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. NEBULA raced fitted without a tongue tie. Vet: NIGHTINGALE - was inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected. SILICONE VALLEY - returned in post race distress. HORIZON - returned not striding out. Scratched: HEAVENLY BLUE (AUS) and CASCAPEDIA (IRE) - under Veterinary treatment.
