AWFAA lost 1 length. At approximately the 400m RED RIDGE was bumped by AWFAA, which shifted out after reacting to a patch on the track. A race review was called into this incident by a member of the Stipendiary Board. This was followed by Jockey van Rensburg, the rider of RED RIDGE, lodging an objection against AWFAA being declared the winner, on the ground of interference at the 400m. The Objection Board, after giving regard to the evidence put forward, was of the opinion that this incident had not affected the result of the race and therefore overruled the objection and allowed the judges' result to stand. Jockey van Rensburg's deposit was refunded. In the concluding stages FOREST EXPRESS had to steady off the heels of SAMARRA when shifting out away from the crop and was immediately straightened. Shortly thereafter FOREST EXPRESS had to steady when awkwardly placed between SAMARRA and JUST MY STYLE. AWFAA was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. FRENCH LEGEND raced equipped with a tongue tie. Vet: RED RIDGE - abnormal respiratory noise. Scratched: BEING FABULOUS (AUS) - insufficient recovery time.
