The start of this Race was delayed due to the withdrawal of LAST GIRL STANDING by the course Veterinary Surgeon. Then en-route to the start, STRAWBERRY PAVLOVA spread her left front shoe which had to be attended to by the course farrier. This caused a further delay to the start of this Race. ALWAYS A LADY was stubborn loading. Assistant Trainer van Zyl was advised to re-school this filly prior to her next engagement. THE SMELL OF RAIN lost one length. PERFECT ORDER was slow into stride. Jockey Lerena reported that STRAWBERRY PAVLOVA did not stride out freely in running. At approximately the 550m, KIRKCONNEL LASS was brushed out by MAR DEL SUR. In the concluding stages, BIG BANG THEORY, which rolled in, had to steady momentarily off the heels of MAR DEL SUR, which was hanging out from the 400m. TEENAGE DREAM had to switch in at the 200m to continue its run. COMME-CI-COMME-CA was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: STRAWBERRY PAVLOVA - not striding out right front. Scratched: LAST GIRL STANDING - not striding out The Course Farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed.
