The start was delayed due to the horses leaving the parade ring late and cantering straight to the start without parading for safety reasons due to the threat of an electric storm. There was a further delay due to the farrier having to refit the right fore shoe on OBVIOUS CHILD at the start. THE MONEY MAN and FANGIA were slow into stride. MAGESH'JET lost one length. BALLYMAINE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. VIKING RED and FIRST APOSTLE over-raced in the early and middle stages. CAPRIVI was momentarily baulked off the heels of FIRST APOSTLE and was switched out for a clear run at approximately the 250 metre mark. In view of the performances of FANGIA and SCRIPTWRITER, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these geldings. FANGIA raced without cheek pieces. Vet: FANGIA and SCRIPTWRITER - nothing obvious detected. The Course Farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed.
