COUNT ROSBERG and SELAILAI had to have their tongue ties refitted at the start causing a slight delay. ALDATO, which was stubborn loading, kicked, causing a delay, jumped awkwardly losing five lengths. SELAILAI reared in the stalls, had to be taken out and then reloaded, causing a delay. ROBERT FROST was fractious and stubborn loading causing a delay. TOMAHAWK jumped awkwardly losing three lengths and thereafter was slow into stride. NORSE GOD was slow into stride. In view of the report from the Starter regarding ALDATO, Trainer Crawford will be advised that this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn. Jockey Botha, which gave ground to the field approaching the 300m, reported that he felt something amiss with BOY SCOUT and he did not persevere with his riding from the 200m. ASHFORDS LEGACY (AUS) and HARVEST WIND raced green. Jockey Africa, the rider of ALDATO, dropped his crop at about the 400m. The Board reviewed the patrol films of the riding of ROBERT FROST in the latter stages of this race, which confirmed the report by Jockey Wright that he was awkwardly placed on the heels of SEA FURY, and therefore was unable to ride his mount out to the finish. SELAILAI and SEA FURY were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. ALDATO is a gelding. NHA notified prior to acceptances, but some confusion regarding the date of the castration, which was done on the Stud Farm in November 2016. Vet: SILENT CHOICE (AUS) - returned having cast the left fore shoe. COUNT ROSBERG - returned making an abnormal respiratory noise. SELAILAI - returned with a cut in the mouth. BOY SCOUT - was examined post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected.
