SECRETARIAT'S GIRL turned her head sideways as the start was effected and was slow into stride. CAVALLERIA dropped her head as the start was effected losing three lengths and thereafter was slow into stride. In view of the report from the Starter regarding CAVALLERIA, Trainer Kruyer will be advised to have this filly re-schooled before her next engagement. In view of the performance from CAVALLERIA, which trailed the field throughout, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the filly on her return to the unsaddling enclosure and submit a report. Apprentice Burke reported that he felt something amiss with SHARP PEG in running. REGAL RUBY, which was carried in by OMEGA FORCE shortly after the start, made contact with the hindquarters of SHARP PEG, which were turned becoming unbalanced. Jockey May was charged with a contravention in that he, as the rider of OMEGA FORCE, failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to REGAL RUBY and SHARP PEG shortly after the start. Jockey May signed an Admission of Guilt and was suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days. Approaching the 250m, MARION BELLE (AUS) rolled inwards and brushed FOURS A CROWD and was immediately straightened. Approaching the 200m, REGAL RUBY, which was held up for a clear run, switched outwards and thereafter was baulked for a clear run for a number of strides. Leaving the 200m SUNSHINE LADY shifted outwards and clipped the heels of CAPE CHARLOTTE, which shifted in slightly. WINGS OF HONOR was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: CAVALLERIA and SHARP PEG - was examined post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected.
