The start of this Race was delayed due to the delay in the previous race. CLAYTON and MR HARDY were slow away and lost 2 lengths each. Jockey Agrella reported that he felt something amiss with SACRED TOUCH in the running and he did not persevere with his ride in the closing stages. Jockey Ndlovu reported COUNT BEAU GAR took no interest in the running and he did not persevere with his ride from the 600 metre mark. Jockey van der Merwe reported that he felt something amiss with CLAYTON in the running and he did not persevere with his ride in the closing stages. BIG JAY'S was hanging in from the 500 metre mark and thereafter Jockey Claassen briefly lost his right rein leaving the 300 metre mark. BELONJE was hanging in from the 400 metre mark. DATA LINK was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Due to flight complications caused by the lengthy delay in race 6 PONDICHERRI was ridden by Jockey Gould and COUNT BEAU GAR was ridden by Jockey Ndlovu. Vet: SACRED TOUCH - not striding out in front. COUNT BEAU GAR - not striding out in front and abnormal respiratory noise. CLAYTON - not striding out in front BIG JAY'S - speedy cut left hind fetlock. Scratched: UNRIVALLED - dirty trachea wash. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at tonight's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at tonight's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed.
