The start of this Race was delayed due to the farrier having to refit the right front shoe on RED ENCHANTMENT at the start. LIGHT ON HER TOES, CHINA PEARL and IF ONLY lost one length. TWICE AS SMART jumped awkwardly losing two lengths. TWICE AS SMART was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. A tiring RED ENCHANTMENT was cramped and steadied near the 300 metre mark. QUEEN OF ALAMO and SPRING IN SEATTLE brushed on three occasions near the 150 metre mark. Jockey de Melo reported that he felt something amiss with PROSECCO in running. In view of the performance of RED ENCHANTMENT, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Vet: PROSECCO and RED ENCHANTMENT - nothing obvious detected. Scratched: CAMPHORATUS - elevated temperature. MIND YOUR BUSINESS - virus. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at tonight's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at tonight's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed.
