SILVER SPUR was squeezed out shortly after the start. BRANDENBURG jumped awkwardly outwards and made contact with TERTON. Jockey de Melo reported that he felt something amiss with RED SHIFT in running, which was hanging in, in the straight. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the colt on its return to the unsaddling enclosure and submit a report. Trainer Nel was requested to report back to the Stipendiary Board on the colt's condition on its return to the stables. SILVER SPUR eased off the heels of BRANDENBURG which shifted in sharply shortly after the start. Jockey Khathi appeared before the Board and was advised to take more care when shifting in to obtain a position in early stages. MANETHEREN was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. SUPER PERFORMER raced fitted with a tongue tie. Vet: RED SHIFT - examined post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected. Scratched: BLACK SAIL - coughing. BAYETO - elevated temperature.
