THE STARTER REPORTED: a) QUICK WIT (J Penny) was restless in the stalls. b) FIRE AND ICE (C Maujean) and ARISTACHUS (D De Gouveia) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) FIRE AND ICE (C Maujean) hung in from the 300m. b) QUICK WIT (J Penny) shifted out away from the crop from the 150m. c) Jockey C Habib reported that he felt something amiss with RAMCHANDANI ROAD in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) In view of the performance of VASEEM (C Murray), (distance 9,50 lengths, betting 2/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Trainer M F de Kock was requested to report back on the condition of this gelding on return to stables. e) FIRE AND ICE (C Maujean), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
