BOILING POINT was slow away losing one length. At the start was effected Jockey Takawira, the rider of PERFECT GRACE, lost his stirrup irons and failed to regain them during the remainder of the race. Jockey Munger, the rider of BETULA UBER, reported something amiss with this mare. Trainer Swanson appeared before the Stipendiary Board and was questioned into the improved running of the winner RAWEDGE. Trainer Swanson's explanation was that last time the gelding ran, it over-raced and raced very wide into the straight, and he felt the jockey did not suit the gelding last time. He also believes that this gelding runs better in the softer going. The Stipendiary Board accepted Trainer Swanson's explanation which has been noted. RAWEDGE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: BETULA UBER - examined post race and nothing untoward was found. Scratched: ROMAN DISCENT - Urticaria.
