SAVUTI was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer Muscutt, acting on behalf of Trainer B Crawford, was questioned regarding the improved performance of SAVUTI was compared to this gelding's two previous runs on the 31st December 2017 and the 21st January 2018. He explained that this gelding had travelled too hard in those runs when leading over extended trips and this had led to SAVUTI compounding in the latter stages. He was further of the opinion that the yielding going on the 21st January 2018 had also not suited this gelding. Today he had had a soft lead which better suited this gelding. His explanation was noted. Jockey Kennedy reported that he felt something amiss with REGENT SEVEN in running. Jockey Marcus reported MARCH PREVIEW took no interest in running and as a result he did not persevere with his ride in the latter stages. REGENT SEVEN raced fitted with alumites. Vet: REGENT SEVEN and MARCH PREVIEW - nothing obvious detected.
