THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) NAVARINO BAY (*K Brewer) and BARRINGTON (*M Zuma) lost 1 length, respectively.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a) SILVER CELEBRITY (S Moodley) was hanging in, in the straight.
b) BARRINGTON (*M Zuma) raced greenly in the running.
c) Apprentice K Brewer (NAVARINO BAY) completed a satisfactory qualifying ride.
d) Jockey S Randolph reported that LONG DAY'S JOURNEY (20.25 lengths) made an abnormal respiratory noise in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
e) In view of the performance of FLYING VISION (T Godden) (11.15 lengths) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
f) In view of the performance of ALMA MATER (*K Matsunyane) (13.65 lengths, 31/4 in the betting) Trainer D Moore was advised to report back to the Stipendiary Board on the condition of this gelding on return to stables.
g) Trainer W Whitehead appeared before the Board and was questioned with regard to the improved performance of PALACE WIND (W Kennedy), compared to this gelding's performance on the 06 September 2020. In this regard, she explained that this gelding had showed no interest in the running after becoming fractious in the stalls on that occasion. She further stated that after PALACE WIND had been re-schooled, re-passed and loaded late for today's race, this, in her opinion had attributed for the improvement shown. The Board noted Trainer Whitehead's explanation.
h) PALACE WIND (W Kennedy), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer W Whitehead advised (SC).
JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES :
a) ALMA MATER was ridden by Apprentice K Matsunyane (advised 25.10.20/8h01).
b) PARALLEL UNIVERSE raced with ear muffs (advised 23.10.20/8h25).
c) LONG DAY'S JOURNEY raced equipped with blinkers (advised 23.10.20/8h29) and raced with an alumite bar shoe left fore (advised 24.10.20/7h30).
