During the loading process CHIARA reared in the stalls, injuring itself and was subsequently withdrawn by the course Veterinary Surgeon. The Starting Stall Certificate for this filly has been withdrawn. Immediately thereafter the OB van advised the boardroom of technical problems with the feed from the OB van to the boardroom. These incidents caused a delay to the start of this Race. COUGAR KITTEN lost two lengths. Shortly after the start, CLIQUE was carried out by POKEMON SHUFFLE, which shifted out. Workrider Matsoele appeared before the Board, was shown the patrol films of the race and advised to take more care when shifting ground in future. In view of the Starter's report with regard to CHIARA, this filly was suspended for a period of 7 days and until such time as she proves tractable loading into the starting stalls with a companion. CHAIRA may not be presented for repassing during this period. Workrider Semela reported that COUGAR KITTEN made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. Workrider Muchansa was charged with a contravention, read with Guideline C on the use of the crop, in that he struck the horse PETITE AIME more than three times on consecutive strides. Workrider Muchansa signed an Admission of Guilt and was suspended from riding in one Workrider race. Workrider Semela was charged with a contravention, read with Guideline G on the use of the crop, in that he struck the horse COUGAR KITTEN when it was out of contention for a place. Workrider Semela signed an Admission of Guilt and was suspended from riding in one Workrider race. HURRICANE LASS cast its left front shoe in running. KITTY COO and KEEP IT HOT were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. KEEP IT HOT raced with a tongue tie on. GIMME A VAR was ridden by Workrider P Mlangeni, and not J Mlangeni as printed in the race card. Vet: SEA LIKE GLASS - blowing heavily post race. HURRICANE LASS and COUGAR KITTEN - abnormal respiratory noise. KEEP IT HOT - lame left front. Recurrent lameness. Indefinite suspension for full veterinary report.
