ALI PASHA lost one length. Even though the Stipendiary Board was satisfied that Apprentice Schwarz had not prejudiced his chance of obtaining fourth place, he was charged with a contravention in that he failed to ride the horse BRAND NEW CADILLAC out to the satisfaction of the Stewards. Apprentice Schwarz signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined. Jockey Chambers reported that MARIO LANZA was hanging out so severely that he was unable to take the turn. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Trainer Magner was be advised to take the necessary corrective measures going forward to ensure that this gelding is tractable in races. An Inquiry will be opened to establish why BRAND NEW CADILAAC, BRAVE GITANO, WHATSITALLABOUT, ALI PASHA, and WOLVES AMONG SHEEP had to ease at approximately the 1600m.
