En route to the start, MATADOR MAN lifted its right front shoe and WILL PAYS spread its left front shoe. These horses had to be attended to by the course farrier which caused a delay to the start of this Race. SHE'S A GIVER was restless in the stalls. Trainer van Vuuren was advised to re-school this filly prior to her next engagement. KANGAROO JACK was stubborn loading. The Starting Stall Certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. MATADOR MAN lost two lengths. In view of the Starter's report with regard to KANGAROO JACK, this gelding was suspended for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable loading into the starting stalls with a companion on a race day. KANGAROO JACK may not be presented for repassing during this period. SIR DAVID BAIRD was hanging in in the concluding stages. In view of the performance of SIR DAVID BAIRD, the Veterinary Surgeon as requested to examine this gelding. Jockey Strydom reported that KANGAROO JACK made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. MATADOR MAN shifted in away from the crop in the concluding stages. WILL PAYS and CORAL FEVER were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. AMAZING STRIKE raced with a Cornell collar. Vet: WILL PAYS - post race distress. GRADUATION DAY - abnormal respiratory noise. KANGAROO JACK - no respiratory noise detected post race. SIR DAVID BAIRD - fatigued.
