At approximately the 1600m, SEATTLE SUNSET, SAINT MARCO and BEACHMASTER had to ease when awkwardly placed on the inside of TWO GUNSY, which shifted in. An Objection was lodged by Jockey Yeni, the rider of the second placed horse, BEACHMASTER, against the winner TWO GUNSY, on the grounds of interference at approximately the 1600m. The Objection Board, after giving regard to the evidence put forward by all parties, and reviewing the patrol films of the race, was of the opinion that this incident had not affected the result of the race and therefore overruled the objection and allowed the judges result to stand. Jockey Yeni's deposit was refunded. Jockey Webber was charged with a contravention in that he, as the rider of TWO GUNSY, failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to SEATTLE SUNSET, SAINT MARCO and BEACHMASTER at approximately the 1600m. Jockey Webber signed an Admission of Guilt and was suspended from riding in races for a period of fourteen days. Apprentice Mjoka reported that he felt something amiss with BORDER HOPPER in running and he did not persevere with his riding from the 1400m. TWO GUNSY was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. SAINT MARCO raced with a tongue tie on. Vet: SABRE CHARGE - lame right front. SAINT MARCO - abnormal respiratory noise. BORDER HOPPER - examined post race, no significant findings.
