BELL JAR was slow into stride. MILLY'S MIRACLE raced wide on the bend. FLOWER OF CARMEL, which was hanging in, was reported not striding out freely in the latter stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the filly on her return to the unsaddling enclosure and submit a report. Jockey May was charged with a contravention in that he did not wear a body protector of the type approved by the Chief Executive whilst riding REBEL'S BURST in this race. Jockey May was fined. THE BOSTON ROSE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Jockey Cheyne rode LIGHT AS A FEATHER. Jockey Cele arrived on course late and was unable to fulfil his engagement due to severe traffic jams and protesting on the highway. LADYSMITH and BELIEVETHISBEAUTY raced fitted with ear muffs. Vet: FLOWER OF CARMEL - inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected. CHAPARRAL'S LADY - returned lame on the left fore.
