The start of this race was delayed due to race 5 having to be re-scheduled and the starting stalls having to be re-positioned on the track. JUST CRUISED IN lost one length. ALI BON DUBAI jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. SPUTNIK PLAIN over-raced in the early and stages and thereafter compounded in the straight. Jockey Zechner reported that ANTONELLO made an abnormal respiratory noise in running and he did not persevere with his riding from the 1600m. Trainer Peter was requested to report back to the Board on the condition of this colt on return to stables. Jockey Zackey reported that SESS (AUS) did not stride out freely in running and he did not persevere with his riding from the 400m. Apprentice Hewitson reported that TAPENZEE made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. Shortly before the finish line, CHEAT THE CHEATERS, had to steady when awkwardly placed between ALI BON DUBAI, which shifted out away from the crop, and JUST CRUISED IN, which shifted in away from the crop. ALI BON DUBAI was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. ENCHANTED DRAWING raced with a tongue tie on. Vet: SESS (AUS) - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. ANTONELLO - no respiratory noise detected post race. TAPENZEE - no respiratory noise detected post race, speedy cut right front.
