The start of this Race was delayed due to the farrier having to replace the right front shoe on DUZI MOON at the start. DUZI MOON lost one length. AMAZON KING, BLING SWING and PRINCE OF PROMISE lost one length. SIR BERNADINI AUS was difficult to load. Trainer Bosch was advised to re-school this gelding. SIR BERNADINI AUS and AMAZON KING were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. FIELDMARSHAL FENIX was hanging in throughout. BLING SWING was hanging in, in the straight. MBALI was hanging in, shifted in from the crop resulting in MASTER OF MISCHIEF having to be steadied momentarily passing the 200 metre mark. In view of the performance of FIELDMARSHAL FENIX, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Apprentice Ngwane, the rider of MBALI, accompanied by the riding master, Mr L O' Donoghue, appeared before the Stipendiary Board and was questioned regarding the riding instructions given to him and his ride on this filly in the early stages. Having heard from Apprentice Ngwane as well as the evidence from Mr Goosen regarding the instructions issued, the Board adjourned this matter. MBALI raced with a tongue tie and with alumites in front, unshod behind. This filly raced with ear muffs. Vet: FIELDMARSHAL FENIX - nothing obvious detected.
