THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) COLOUR MY FATE (T Godden) over-raced in the early and middle stages. b) FARLAND (M Yeni) over-raced in the early and middle stages, thereafter was allowed to improve to a forward position from the 800m. c) Approaching the 600m, MAITLAND MAGIC (*L Ferraris) was inconvenienced on the inside of FARLAND (M Yeni) which rolled in. d) Approaching the 300m, VINSON (L Hewitson) was switched out to continue its run. Thereafter, this gelding was hanging in, in the concluding stages. e) In view of the performance of GIMME PEACE (S Randolph) (16.30 lengths) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) Assistant Trainer N Roscoe acting on behalf of Trainer D Kannemeyer appeared before the Board and was questioned with regard to the improved performance of DUTCH ALLEY, compared to this gelding's previous performance on the 18 October 2020. Assistant Trainer N Roscoe could offer no suitable explanation for the improved performance and her attention was drawn to the Rules pertaining to in and out running. g) DUTCH ALLEY (K de Melo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
