Before the first race, it was established that the ambulance had been delayed due to a roadblock on the R59. As the course Medical Officer and Paramedics were on course, it was decided to allow the field to canter to the start where they would be met by the ambulance which would proceed directly to the start on arrival. However, due to miscommunication from the ambulance to the raceday operator, this delay was longer than was anticipated which caused a significant delay to the start of this Race. PERFACT and REVEILLE were slow losing one length. MR FLOOD was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
