The start of this Race was delayed due to technical problems from the OB Van to the Stipendiary stewards boardroom. This was followed by the starter calling a false start. Shortly before the start was effected, BELIEVE ME in stall gate 3 broke open the front gate. The Starter called a false start. All the riders restrained their mounts, returned to the start, inspected by the Course Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded. JUBA lost two lengths. CARIBBEAN QUEEN was restless in the stalls. Trainer Peter was advised to re-school this filly prior to her next engagement. BELIEVE ME was restless in the stalls and lost one length. Trainer van Vuuren was advised to re-school this filly prior to her next engagement. In view of the performance of BELIEVE ME, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Jockey Brown reported that he felt something amiss with BECKONING in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Jockey Munger reported that ALL DONE made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. PRETTY POPULAR was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. When questioned regarding the improved performance of this filly, Trainer Jonker explained to the Board that he had fitted this filly with a tongue tie for the first time which he believes helped her to breath a lot better in running. Trainer Jonker was advised to race this filly similarly equipped in future. CHARTER JET was ridden by Jockey J Greyling. CUTEY ME was ridden by Jockey L Bester. QUEENSBERRY SQUARE raced with a tongue tie on. SAMMI MOOSA carried 57,5kg merit rating 63. Vet: BELIEVE ME - not striding out right hind. BECKONING - not striding out right front. ALL DONE and MELINDA'S GARDEN - abnormal respiratory noise. Scratched: PROMISE - cast in box. GATEWAY TO HEAVEN and MUMSY - insufficient recovery time.
