The start of this Race was delayed due to the farrier having to refit the left front shoe on ROY'S TAXI at the start. SHANDY lost one length. MIDNIGHT MESSENGER was restless in the stalls. GO WITH FLO and ASTROMAN were slow into stride. GO WITH was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. GO WITH FLO proved difficult proceeding to the start and had to be led. Trainer Roberts appeared before the Board and was advised that should GO WITH FLO prove difficult to proceed to the start in future, she may be suspended. The Board suggested that Mr Roberts use a lead pony. Apprentice Ferraris the rider of SEATTLE SILVA had a satisfactory qualifying ride. ASTROMAN cast the left fore shoe near the 1000 metre mark. AWESOME ANGEL ONE took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. ROY ROYALE (AUS) was hanging in, in the straight. MIDNIGHT MESSENGER raced without a tongue tie. Vet: AWESOME ANGEL ONE - nothing obvious detected.
