The start of this Race was delayed due to the Phumelela staff attending to the stall gates and having to replace a faulty spring in one of the front gates. TALKTOTHESTARS and GREEN PEPPER lost one length. Leaving the 150m, ROMI'S BOY had to steady off the heels of GRADUATION DAY, which had come to the end of its run and was carried in by GREEN PEPPER which was hanging in. TANDAVA (ZIM) was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. When questioned regarding this geldings improved performance, Trainer Terzi explained to the Board that this gelding's saddle had slipped significantly in its previous run. Trainer Tarry following the scratching of AFRICA RISING, requested permission to use Apprentice Hewitson on SAFE HARBOUR. The Board took into consideration that Apprentice Hewitson is Trainer Tarry's current stable rider, that this was a Group 2 race and that the request was made in good time, therefore the jockey change was permitted. The new ownership of ROCKY VALLEY should read: Ralphs Racing (Pty) Ltd (Nom: Miss K Ralphs); and the Colours are: white, blue hoop, white sleeves and cap (sold with engagements). Vet: GRADUATION DAY - abnormal respiratory noise. MATADOR MAN - coughing. GOLDEN MAN - scalped left front. Scratched: WILL PAYS - lame right hind. AFRICA RISING - swollen right front.
