THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FOXY VIXEN (D De Gouveia) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) MODE (*J R Syster), FAIR (J Greyling) and SUGAR COATED SMILE (B Nyawo) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) MARIGOLD SUN (S Brown) hung out from the 200m. b) PERFECT ANGEL (S Khumalo) took a number of awkward strides in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Jockey S Khumalo (PERFECT ANGEL) accidentally dropped his crop at the 200m. c) Jockey G Lerena reported MAPLE SUGAR never travelled well in running. This filly took a number of awkward strides in the concluding stages. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Jockey D De Gouveia reported he felt something amiss with FOXY VIXEN in running and did not persevere with his riding from the 200m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) BROOKLYN BRIDGE (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M N Houdalakis advised (LN). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) PERFECT ANGEL examined post race, nothing obvious detected. b) MAPLE SUGAR stirrup rub and not striding out right front. c) FOXY VIXEN not striding out right front. d) ZODIAC PRINCESS coughing.
