SAINT - LAZARE was slow into stride. RUBY DUCHESS was nervous in the stalls and jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. PIERA kicked the back gate in the stalls, JUST LUCKY was nervous in the stalls. Jockey Munger reported that he felt something amiss with SAINT - LAZARE in the running. ME MYSELF AND I was steadied between DATA LINK and SANDY BAY (AUS), which rolled in slightly passing the 300 metre mark. Leaving the 50 metre mark, ME MYSELF AND I was carried out by DATA LINK, which was shifting out away from the crop from the 150 metre mark. A race review was called into these incidents however after reviewing the patrol films, the Board decided to take no further action. CLOSE TO MY HEART was not correctly equipped when presented in the parade ring. RUBY DUCHESS was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Uren was questioned regarding this horse's improved performance. He explained that this mare prefers to run on the poly track and undertook where possible, to race this horse similarly in future. The Board noted his explanation. COSMO RUSSE raced without a tongue tie. Vet: SAINT - LAZARE - nothing obvious detected. Scratched: ALTITUDE - ineligible.
