The tongue tie on COUNT ROSBERG came off at the start and had to be refitted causing a delay. RIKERS ISLAND (AUS) jumped awkwardly inwards losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. ALDATO jumped awkwardly losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. Jockey Fourie reported that GIANT FLAG did not stride out freely in running. Jockey Domeyer reported that CRADLEOFGRATITUDE made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. Jockey D Ashby reported that this colt did not stride out freely in running. GIANT FLAG raced wide on the latter part of the bend and into the straight. RIKERS ISLAND (AUS) switched out to continue his run at the 200m. MAGNIFICENT SEVEN, which raced wide without cover in the early stages was forced to ease off the heels of MOON ROCK when carried in by CARNAGE leaving the 50m. Jockey Dillon appeared before the Board and was advised to make more effort to keep his mount on a straight course. COUNT ROSBERG was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: GIANT FLAG - returned not striding out freely. CRADLEOFGRATITUDE and COUNT ROSBERG - returned making an abnormal respiratory noise. ROCK FANTASTIC - returned not striding out behind.
