During the loading process, EXTREME DUBAI (AUS) broke through the front gate, was restrained by Jockey Penny, returned to the start, inspected by the course Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded, which caused a delay to the start of this Race. SUPANOVA was squeezed out shortly after the start. O'BRIEN THE LION was restless in the stalls resulting in EXTREME DUBAI (AUS) breaking through the front gates. EXTREME DUBAI (AUS) was inspected by the Course Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded. In the concluding stages, Jockey Strydom reported that SMOKE changed stride continually and made an - abnormal respiratory noise in running. As a consequence of this, Jockey Strydom did not ride his mount out to the end of the race. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. GREAT SHAKA was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: SMOKE - abnormal respiratory noise - severe.
