THE STARTER REPORTED: a) VI VA PI PA (*Y Ramzan) was nervous in stalls and thereafter slow into stride. b) BIG MYTH (AUS) (X Ndlovu) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) A race review was called by a member of the Stipendiary Board with regard to EASYBYFAR in stall gate 2 and established that this mare jumped on terms, immediately ducked outwards sharply and refused to gallop. As a consequence of this, SARK (D R Lerena) was bumped heavily outwards losing momentum. In terms of Rule 93.2.5, EASYBYFAR is suspended from racing for a period of thirty days until she proves tractable jumping on terms and racing with a companion on a raceday. Trainer S B Kotzen advised. Suspension dates: 31 October 2020 to 29 November 2020. b) Apprentice L J Ferraris reported that MAYFERN did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) LAZARUS TREE (S Fortune) hung in in the latter stages. d) Jockey X Ndlovu the rider of BIG MYTH (AUS) briefly dropped his left side rein shortly before the finish line. e) PHANTOM ROLLS (M van Rensburg), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G D Smith advised (LM). When questioned regarding the improved performance of PHANTOM ROLLS, Trainer Smith explained to the Board that this gelding was very keen in his last two runs on 14 August 2020 and 28 September 2020. In today's race, PHANTOM ROLLS raced over 1600m where he was far more settled in front and ran to the line. He further explained that it is his intention to race this gelding over similar distances in future. Trainer Smith was advised that PHANTOM ROLLS future runs will be monitored. JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) MAYFERN examined post race, nothing obvious detected. b) VI VA PI PA abnormal respiratory noise. c) DUCHESS OF STATE abnormal respiratory noise. d) MALDIVES abnormal respiratory noise. SCRATCHED: a) PEGA D'ORO swollen left front (Trainer) (Rule 53.5 applies). DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
