SUMMER SKY and TRIBAL FUSION both lost 1 length. LORD BALMORAL (AUS) was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. LORD BALMORAL (AUS) and DAWN CALLING both shifted out in the early part of the straight resulting in SYLVESTER THE CAT being carried out and being inconvenienced by LORD BALMORAL (AUS) near the 300 metre mark. Jockey Byleveld, the rider of LORD BALMORAL (AUS), and Apprentice Sakayi, the rider of DAWN CALLING, appeared before the Board with regard to this incident and were advised to take measures to maintain a straight course after entering the straight in future. AMAZON KING was hanging in, in the closing stages. Apprentice de Gouveia reported this gelding took no interest in the closing stages. In view of the performances of JUST ASK ME and DAWN CALLING, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these horses. Vet: JUST ASK ME - coughing. DAWN CALLING - not striding out in front. AMAZON KING - nothing obvious detected. Scratched: CARIBBEAN DAY - retired from racing.
