THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SLOANE (S Naidoo) reared in the stalls. b) LAW AND ORDER (L Hewitson) was nervous and jumped outwards leaving the stalls. c) VALERIANA (*L J Ferraris) was nervous in the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At the 800m, SLOANE (S Naidoo) had to steady momentarily when awkwardly placed on the heels of ROSALINA (E Webber) which commenced to over-race. b) Jockey L Bester reported that BENEFICIARY did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) At approximately the 700m, the saddle on SCOLDING (J Mariba) slipped sideways in running which resulted in Jockey Mariba being unable to fully assist his mount out to the end of the race. This was confirmed by the Stewards d) LAW AND ORDER (L Hewitson), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M L Turner advised (LM). JOCKEY CHANGES: None.
