SILVER SPUR was slow losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. Jockey Cheyne reported that SILVER SPUR did not stride out freely in running. Inside the 50m UNRIVALLED was cramped for galloping room on the outside running rail and had to steady when ZANADU, which was hanging out and proved difficult to assist, shifted out. As a consequence THE SILVA FOX, which was following had to steady and switched in to continue its run. A Member of the Stipendiary Board called for a race review, which was followed by Jockey Domeyer, declared 2nd place, lodging an Objection against ZANADU being declared the winner, on the grounds of interference in the latter stages. The Board, after reviewing the patrol films, hearing evidence from the connections of both horses, and having regard for the distance between the two horses at the finish, was of the opinion that but for the reported incident UNRIVALLED would not have finish ahead of ZANADU, and therefore overruled the Objection. The deposit was refunded. ZANADU was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: SILVER SPUR - returned not striding out behind.
