ORCHID ISLAND pulled its left front shoe en-route to the start which was attended to by the course farrier. This caused a delay to the start of this race. DEO JUVENTE and ABASHIRI were slow into stride. In view of the performance of LEGAL EAGLE, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Trainer Tarry was requested to report back to the Board on the condition of this gelding on return to stables. Jockey Fayd'Herbe reported that BRAZUCA (AUS) did not stride out freely in running. Jockey Domeyer reported that he felt something amiss with ORCHID ISLAND in running. At approximately the 150m, CORAL FEVER and ABASHIRI came together and brushed. CORAL FEVER, ABASHIRI and SILVAN STAR were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: LEGAL EAGLE and ORCHID ISLAND - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. BRAZUCA (AUS) - not striding out both front. SAFE HARBOUR wound left front.
