THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ILLUMINATE (M Yeni) was stubborn loading. b) SMOKING HOT (W Kennedy) and PUCKER UP (M Mjoka) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 1700m, SMOKING HOT (W Kennedy) was steadied in anticipation of running onto the heels of IRISH DAME (*J R Syster ) which was carried in by DIORAMA (*N Klink) which shifted in. b) At approximately the 400m, JACKO BOY (C Maujean) had to steady when awkwardly placed on inside of PRETTY BORDER (G Lerena) which shifted in. An objection was lodged by Jockey C Maujean, the rider of the fourth placed horse (JACKO BOY) against the third placed horse (PRETTY BORDER) on the grounds of interference at the 400m. After considering the evidence in this matter, the Board upheld the objection. In arriving at this decision, the Board considered the distance lost by JACKO BOY (C Maujean) through this incident, the fact that JACKO BOY (C Maujean) was making up significant ground in the concluding stages and the distance of 0,15 lengths between third and fourth place. Consequently, the Board was satisfied that, but for the above incident, JACKO BOY would have finished ahead of PRETTY BORDER, therefore it upheld the objection and amended the Judge's result to read: 1st : 14 : ILLUMINATE 2nd : 3 : STATELY HOME 3rd : 5 : JACKO BOY 4th : 6 : PRETTY BORDER 5th : 8 : NABEELA Jockey C Maujean's deposit was refunded. c) Jockey S Khumalo (NABEELA) accidentally dropped his crop at approximately the 150m. d) ILLUMINATE (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer B Webber was advised (AH). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) NABEELA was ridden by Jockey S Khumalo (declared 31 October 2020 at 19H15). b) PUCKER UP: Jockey M Mjoka weighed out at 52,8kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight.
