IKEBANA cast the right fore shoe on the way to the start which the farrier replaced causing a delay. SNOW GOOSE and EXCLAMATION were slow losing one length and thereafter were slow into stride. IKEBANA raced with club colours. Apprentice Burke, rider of EXCLAMATION reported that this filly made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the filly on her return to the unsaddling enclosure and submit a report. At about the 1000m VANILLA ICE was cramped for galloping room and had to steady. CLIFTON BEACH was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: IKEBANA had the right fore shoe replaced prior to the start, was examined and declared fit to race. SNOW GOOSE made a poor recovery. SUITE FRANCAISE (AUS) returned having cast the left fore shoe. EXCLAMATION returned making an abnormal respiratory noise.
