The start of this Race was delayed due to CHAUMASO (W Agrella) dislodging the rider en route to the start and thereafter cantering part of the racecourse. This gelding was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to race. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PHIL'S POWER (M Yeni) reared in the stalls, removed, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and was re-loaded. Trainer W G C Miller was advised to re-school this gelding. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At the 200m, when it improved into a run between the heels of CHAUMASO (W Agrella) and BEDAZZLED JOKER (S Moodley), ROY'S MAGIC (D Dillon) which itself was hanging in, and shifted in slightly, clipped the heels of CHAUMASO (W Agrella). As a consequence of this incident, CHAUMASO (W Agrella) shifted out slightly, stumbled and became unbalanced. Jockey W Agrella (CHAUMASO) appeared before the Board with regard to this incident and was advised to react sooner to correct his mounts when they shift ground in races in future. b) PANTSULA (W Kennedy) was inconvenienced on the inside of LIVING WATERS (E Ngwane) which was hanging in, in the concluding stages. c) In view of the performance of CALGARY (L Hewitson) (5.85 lengths, 9/4 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) Trainer S Von Willingh Smit signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 11.2.8, in that he presented IMMORTELLE in the parade ring incorrectly equipped for this race. Accordingly, a penalty of a warning was imposed. e) COOL RUNNINGS (K de Melo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer N Roscoe acting on behalf of Trainer D Kannemeyer advised (TN). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) FEVER raced equipped with blinkers (advised 04.11.20/07h30). b) BEDAZZLED JOKER was ridden by Jockey S Moodley (advised 11.03.20/09h22). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) CALGARY : Not striding out left fore. b) CHIEF OFFICER : Returned post race having cast the left front shoe. SCRATCHINGS : a) PUTCHINI : Insufficient recovery time (Trainer - 03.11.20/09h03). Rule 53.5 applies. b) TWO OF US : Reserve runner. c) GENTLEMAN'S WAY : Reserve runner.
