The start of this Race was slight delayed due to the farrier having to replace the left fore shoe on SPEEDPOINT at the start. SIR FRENCHIE (AUS) lost three lengths and thereafter was slow into stride. QUINLAN, ON THAT BOULEVARD and MAGIC SAILOR were slow into stride. WOLJAYRINE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Approaching the 900 metre mark SO VAR shifted in carrying PHELAN LUCKY (AUS) inwards. This resulted in MUJALLAD (AUS) becoming momentarily inconvenienced. Jockey Kennedy the rider of SO VAR appeared before the Board with regard to the above incident and was advised to ensure that he is sufficiently clear when attempting to overcome a bad draw in future. SO VAR compounded over the final 200 metres. In view of this the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. SO VAR raced with a Cornell collar. Vet: SO VAR - fatigued.
