LADUREE proved reluctant to canter to the start which caused a delay to the start of this race. RABIA THE REBEL and KISS ME STUPID lost one length. SECRET ISLAND jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. At approximately the 1300m, when racing in tight quarters, SECRET ISLAND and TIDAL TUSSLE were awkwardly placed between GIANNA which rolled out marginally and SHEZAHOTTI which rolled in marginally. As a consequence of this, SECRET ISLAND clipped the heels of SHEZAHOTTI dislodging Apprentice Lerena. Jockeys Herholdt, van Rensburg and Simons appeared before the Board and were questioned regarding this incident. After hearing evidence presented by the riders and reviewing the patrol film, the Stipendiary Board was of the opinion that blame could not be apportioned to any individual rider and deemed this to be a racing incident and therefore took no further action. REGAL GIRL was hanging in from the 400m. LADUREE proved reluctant to canter to the start. Trainers Azzie were advised that should this filly behave in a similar manner in future, she may be suspended. Jockey Strydom reported that he felt something amiss with LADUREE in running. SAINTS ALIVE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: RABIA THE REBEL - speedy cut right hind. SECRET ISLAND - mouth injury. LADUREE - examined post race, nothing obvious detected.
