The start was delayed due to the late arrival of KING OF PLENTY at the start, who had to have his shoe attended to prior to leaving the parade ring. RACE FOR GRAHAM became fractious fractionally before the start was affected and as the start was affected this colt threw his head down and as a result jumped awkwardly losing four lengths. Trainer van Zyl (Jnr) was advised to re-school this colt. DIRTY HARRY jumped with head up losing two lengths. TORONTO was slow into stride. PROVOCATEUR was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. A race review was called into the start with regard to RACE FOR GRAHAM. After viewing the patrol footage from the various angles, the Board was satisfied that the actions of the horse had resulted in him being slow away and therefore declared RACE FOR GRAHAM to be a runner. KING OF PLENTY was hanging out throughout. Jockey de Melo the rider of RUMBLEINTHEJUNGLE reported that he felt something amiss with this colt in running and as a result did not persevere with his mount over the final 200 metres. KING OF PLENTY raced with steel shoes in front and unshod behind. Vet: RUMBLEINTHEJUNGLE - not striding out behind.
